Argyll House
Reintegration unit
The philosophy of Argyll house is based around the belief that everyone who is resident here can move forward with their difficulties and live a full life in an appropriate community setting. Everyone who comes into contact with Argyll house should feel respected and that their opinions have been heard.
Staff at Argyll House work with the residents by supporting every resident to make decisions about themselves, their lives, and some decisions about the running of Argyll House during the House meeting. The atmosphere of Argyll House is created by residents and staff working together, encouraging individuals to explore their ideas and feelings openly and honestly in a safe friendly environment.
This enables people of all abilities to come to Argyll house and begin to learn to live ….
The aim of Argyll house is to equip residents with the skills they will need to live independently. The areas we cover are Social Inclusion, Self Catering, Home Management, Budgeting and Housing needs.
"Beyond mental health services and pharmacotherapy, social and economic responses are needed to reduce relative disadvantage. Programmes enhancing perceived life prospects through improved employment opportunities and job security could have an effect on suicide attempts and mental antecedents just as much as - if not more than - improved mental health services''
